Sifu Daria Sergeeva - I Liq Chuan Workshop February 6 & 7, 2016

“Every one of our thoughts, emotions and behaviors has an energy consequence,
for better or for worse. The ultimate measure of our lives is not how much time
we spend on the planet, but rather how much energy we invest in the time that
we have.  Performance, health and happiness are grounded not in the skillful
management of time but of energy.”

~ Jim Loehr and Tony Schwartz from The Power of Full Engagement

I Liq Chuan Workshop February 6th & 7th 2016

This workshop will focus on developing the “inner force” – nei gong – within your body.

You will learn how to refine the proper awareness of optimal body structure, relaxation and energy flow, using the 13 Points of Reference.

You will explore this dynamic manifestation - the balance of Yin and Yang in:
I Liq Chuan’s 15 Basic Exercises with both solo and partner training, health related solo exercises, 5 Element Nei Gung , the Process of Spinning and Sticky Hands, and Applications and Principles of the 21 Form.

Dasha will guide you through the Fundamentals both in theory so that you understand what you are doing and in the act of practice.  Emphasis will be on developing not just your technical ability but your power of awareness and attention; so as to you free your conscious awareness to recognize and realize.

Since this will be a special seminar and we have arranged for a larger venue at Rythmix Cultural Works in Alameda, Instructors and
Students are encouraged to invite people from other martial arts and related mind/body disciplines to join us.

About I-Liq Chuan:
I-Liq Chuan (roughly translated as "mind-body fist") is an art of cultivating consciousness based on Tai Chi and Chan (Zen) principles of non-assertions, non-resistance, harmony of yin and yang, oneness, and the present moment.  As a system of kung fu, I-Liq Chuan emphasizes the development of internal power through mental attitude and awareness.  The training develops sticking and merging abilities, circular spiral energy, Chin Na (locking), Fa Jing (projecting force), Chi Kung, and most importantly, integration of the mind's complete awareness in the present moment.  I-Liq Chuan trains the ability to sense the opponent's intention through awareness and to redirect the force and use it against the opponent or incorporate the use of Fa Jing.

THE 4 PRINCIPLES OF FULL ENGAGEMENT

“Principle 1: Full engagement requires drawing on four separate but related sources of
Energy: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

Principle 2: Because energy diminishes both with overuse and with underuse, we must
balance energy expenditure with intermittent energy renewal.

Principle 3: To build capacity we must push beyond our normal limits, training in the
same systematic way that elite athletes do.

Principle 4: Positive energy rituals—highly specific routines for managing energy are
the key to full engagement and sustained high performance.
