I Liq Chuan Workshop with Rich Kelly February 25 & 26, 2017
We are pleased to announce that Rich Kelly, a level 3 Instructor form New York,
is coming to Oakland, California for an I Liq Chuan Workshop February 25 & 26, 2017
I think Rich is a fabulous and very clear teacher. Some of the things in
I l Liq that took me years to try and understand...
Highest Point, Yang energy Constantly moving forward, compression with
the Yang Energy...
- Rich taught me or showed me in a few minutes, a night or a weekend.
This workshop will focus on developing the “inner force” – nei gong –
within your body.
This link will take you to Rich's Instructor Bio: http://thelivingseed.com/martial/profile/richkelly.shtml
You will learn how to refine the proper awareness of optimal body
structure, relaxation and energy flow, using the 13 Points of Reference.
You will explore this dynamic manifestation - the balance of Yin and Yang in: I Liq Chuan’s 15 Basic Exercises with both solo and partner training, health related solo exercises, 5 Element Nei Gung , the Process of Spinning and Sticky Hands, and Applications and Principles of the 21 Form.
Rich will guide you through the Fundamentals both in theory so that you understand what you are doing how to practice correctly.
Emphasis will be on developing not just your technical ability but your power of awareness and attention; so as to you free your conscious awareness to recognize and realize.
During this workshop you will learn how to harmonize and maximize the use of your body in a martial way that transfers over to any martial art style, or health based Qigong/Neigung practices.
You will learn advanced martial skills that will enhance your training for the rest of your life. The internal and external circles are one of the six physical points of I Liq Chuan.
When you train yourself to understand this aspect of the nature of the human body, you recognize how to create defense and offense upon initial contact (touch or sight). When we train to refine this understanding, we see how to maintain the proper spacing and engagement at touch to defend at any point and attack/create an application at any point.
This workshop will emphasize the tools you need to turn any point of contact into a defense point. With a focus on partner training and merging with your opponent, we will incorporate all aspects of the I Liq Chuan curriculum to properly meet & match, establish the ‘highest point’, and recognize the proper energy, spacing, positioning and angle to create an appropriate movement. We will train to manifest this quality while spinning hands through the eight circles.
This understanding and refinement will allow you to translate and maintain this quality through sticky hands and sparring. We will emphasize maintaining the spinning hands process with 6 energies and 3 points of engagement. We will work to relate the point of contact to the 13 points, the vertical and horizontal lines of the body, and establish circle to center.
By understanding your own internal and external circles you will come to understand your opponent's, and how to maintain a dialogue of harmonization while creating an optimal positioning for defense and offense.
