Bernard Langan and In Motion Center is a member of the Sangenkai, an international association of groups and individuals across North and South America,
Asia, Europe and Australia that come from a widely diverging range of martial arts and disciplines, but are united by a common methodology and principles of training.
Dan Harden's Shugyo Dojo in Spencer, Massachusetts is the headquarters of the Sangenkai.
- Dan Harden teaches BodyWork Seminars around the world and we sponsor Dan in Northern California throughout the year.
San Gen Kai Internal power training combines unarmed fighting techniques with internal power conditioning and the study of traditional Japanese (as well as Philippine and Modern knife) weaponry in a system designed to further personal development and encourage cross research exchange of information.
Training is principle based, with the emphasis being on conditioning and training the body to move, behave and react in a specific martial way.

An Invitation from Bernard Langan
In November 2012 Meyer Goo a seminal figure in the establishment of Aikido in the United States attended the Kona, Hawaii "Internal training, Aiki and Empowering Aikido" with Dan Harden. Here's what Meyer Goo said to Dan at that workshop... – "Thank you, I never thought that I would feel Ueshiba Sensei's power again. What you are doing is very important. Don't stop. No matter what they say.". When told that some people believe that the material covered at the workshops is unrelated to Aikido, Meyer Goo's answer was short and to the point – "Who are these people, did they train with Ueshiba Sensei?". In an effort to expand the northern California audience for Internal Power training, Dan Harden has agreed to hold a seminar on May 28th and 29th, 2016. This special training will instruct and illustrate the relevance of Dan's Internal Power training methodology to a broader audience than the Aikido and Chinese Internal Arts practitioners who have been attending Dan's seminars. We are expecting practitioners from Silat, Eskrima, Systema, Jujutsu, Kempo and MMA at this event. To Register for the Seminar: Email Dan your request for attendance consideration to [email protected]. Mention that you were recommended by Bernard Langan Please cc me Bernard Langan <[email protected]> and California Sangenkai <[email protected]> on any communications Include "NorCal Seminar May 2016: Request to Attend" in the subject line. I would recommend reading the testimonials on both Dans website www.bodyworkseminars.org
and the seminar review at www.aikidosangenkai.org

To these testimonials I will add my own - which is taken from a communication I sent to my teacher, mentor, and friend James Sumarac of Australia - after I attended my first seminar with Dan in January 2013.
Since that time my appreciation has only grown.
" I recently got a chance to train with Dan Harden, and I was very impressed the skill and the character of the man, a soulful caring heart that shines with integrity. I plan to do more training with him; and will incorporate these principles and methods into my teaching.
His background is Daito Ryu and several Koryu. He did a lot of Judo, Jujitsu and Aikido, some Go-Ju and Eskrima and Greco-Roman Wrestling, probably a lot of other things.
Dan's body mechanics come from Japanese Daito Ryu Katori Shinto Ryu
- they look to me like a cross between very high level Chen Tai Chi and an interesting combo of Honan, Hebei and Shanshi Hsing-Yi, Lui He Hsin-I and I Chuan, also some Kuntao.
Some Martial Arts Instructors from Australia have flown out to his workshops in Hawaii, as he is reluctant to travel more than he is at this time.
Dan's website is bodyworkseminars.org
The seminar took place at an Aikido school. The Aikido/Daito Ryu technique Dan taught was clear, effortless, precise, fluid, graceful, and powerfully performed.
Dan is a great guy, a lot of fun and a very sincere teacher - empowering and challenging at the same time - no ego or bullshit.
He really wants you to get what he is teaching which is the essence of internal movement and power. More content than form.
He uses the Anatomy Trains model from Thomas Myers in his teaching - and has really embodied and deeply understands this model.
His architecture background informs his teaching and makes the material informative and clear in addition to being functional.
Very congruent with Chinese, Indonesian and Filipino Martial Arts and applicable to both healing skills and everyday life.
I imagine Dan is close to training with someone the caliber of Don Draeger Sensei. Closest as anyone from my generation will get in their lifetime.
He is a big fan of I Liq Chuan and my teacher Master Sam Chin although they have never met."
