In anticipation of our upcoming seminar with Dan Harden on June 13th and 14th, 2015 we would like to share this video. Dan is normally as camera-shy, but he recently uploaded a very short video to Facebook. The video shows him teaching a cut with a ~54" long, 1.25" diameter Japanese oak staff to simulate the naginata (8' long Japanese halberd) attack. The goal was not to flex the staff, but to use the body, not arms/shoulders, to power the cut.
